The Asian American Writers’ Workshop celebrates the publication of K-Ming Chang’s debut novel, Bestiary, with a reading and conversation with K-Ming and Franny Choi on September 29, 7:00 pm EST. More about the event is here. Exploring the ways writing about girlhood can reinvent our definitions of community and lineage, and the ways we can grapple with and imagine beyond threats of violence that often shape daughterhood, this conversation will delve into family and queer girlhood as a generative space of resistance and reinvention, monstruousness and memory. This event will be live-streamed on Zoom, and CART captions will be available. The first 100 RSVPs will receive access to the Zoom link via email. The event will also be live streamed on the Asian American Writers’ Workshop YouTube page for the greater public.
